He stood just outside the gates of his birthplace. The young tiger had not lived here long before his parents had moved he and his sister to a safer environment. Shallum didn't have very many memories here, and none of them were good. He could remember his father being nervous all the time, his mother being scared. Shallum had been born into harsh and uncertain times, something that had shaped the young cat's personality for the worse. His moods, so much like the whirlwind he had been born into, were unpredictable and harsh. He went from goofy and happy to angry and confused so fast it threatened to give him whiplash. He just couldn't help it. It was like a disease, one he wished he didn't have. He had managed to keep it a secret the whole of his short life, but how long would that last? Hopefully the rest of his life, but that was simply wishful thinking. He had been lucky so far, but he knew that his luck was bound to run out. After all, no one was lucky forever.
But for now he was in a good happy mood, and he had decided to explore the facility a little more. He had been here a few times since his recent tribal.. Or.. Clannal? Switch. It had been taken a bit of adapting for the young prince. After all, he had gone from being the heir to being a traitor in one night. He was very scared to run upon his father again, because he knew the end result would be his death. He had seen his father's fury before, he had seen him fighting with the lions to protect his family. One well placed smack of one of his large paws could produce a yowl and a sickening crack. Shallum hated fighting, though, and that was why he joined this clan. Not only that, but he knew that not every lion could be bad... Could they? Surely not, but the fact that there were no lions in the tribe made him wonder. Not only that, but the clan was going through a shift in power at the moment, something that left them leaderless and weak.
Before Shallum could enter the facility, he heard the sound of someone else approaching. He turned his head to look at his new guest, terrified that he would see his father charging toward him.

Ferra walked slowly behind her brother, she was a few feet away and made sure he could not see her. The female was curious to what he was doing, but so far she had not shown her self, not even when he entered the breeding center. The female tried to stay away from there, it brought to many memories, and its not just her first few days of life, no its all about her past. She was so young but already had betrayed so many people. It was for the better good though right? That's what the female thinks, you know the whole kill one save a thousand. She waited though, from behind a wall, she was not ready to show her self. But why was her brother here exactly, Ferra might be a little too curious sometimes but this is her brother she must know! But before she could get there the female though she heard another cat, but she could not be for sure. Ferra decided to come out though, why scare him when you can just say hi. ''Hello brother!''.
{Urgh sorry its so short!}

The deer, even taller and lankier, and certainly more wide eyed than the one that followed her, shot through the forest like an arrow. Fear of near certain death drove her on, no respect for territorial boundaries alive in her eyes as she fled. Zunda flew in pursuit of the doe, her orange coat blurred and darkened by the setting sun. The chase was so close that had the deer truly been the arrow she resembled, Zunda would have been the red feathers to mark the shaft. She had told Shaman she would bring home dinner this night, and she was determined to so, though she knew Reveka was the more experienced huntress. She was also aware of one minor little detail: she was no longer on Inferne territory. She should have stopped several miles back and turned back; found another soul to hunt or returned home empty handed... but she had not. The doe was large, capable of feeding their small family for quite so time, and she had been more than reluctant to let her go when she was just so close, because of an invisible line! She could smell the fear rolling off of the doe, contained in the very drops of sweat that rolled along her downy hide. She could reached her now, could have latched on and drug her to the ground, but it would have been a hard fight to win just yet... but so close, she was so close! Until that is, the doe caught scent of other cats when Zunda drove her between two well marked trees. Assuming the worst, the doe gave her all and left the young, exhausted tigress well and far behind. Zunda gave an angry snarl, her sides heaving as she glared after the lost meal. Only after she had regained her breath did she look up to see just how far into enemy territory she had wandered. The bars and boxes and other man made things were strange and alien -- before her time by at least a year. These were different than the things that made up her own home, even if only by lack of familiarization, but she was still unsure of what she saw. They gave her a sense of foreboding, and she shied away from their inky depths as she edged farther, now merely catering to her curiosity. She dared not enter what could only be the heart of such a place, circling around uncertainly. Such a dreadful place was home to the peacekeepers? Or, since she hadrun from the southern forests, been turned around and headed west rather than east and was in fact in lion territory? That fact was one that made her blood run cold. She did not care for the cats, but she was not so foolish as to think that she, small as she was in her youth, could win a fight alone. A pitiful sound escaped her, so different from the outraged snarl only moments before and she turned quickly to leave, hoping her presence had not yet been detected. Her steps were slow only for caution's sake, her senses wired and she were honest, she was more jumpy than expertly alert. She had just made it back to the tree lines when the faintest sound of voices caught her by surprise. Her eyes flew open, afraid she'd been caught, and she searched for the easiest escape route. There was none, unless she doubled back, closer to the voices... She was loathe to do so, but nearer them was the clearest route home, less impeded by trees and sinking sands. She growled softly, slinking in the half-shadows; if they were searching for her, they'd have to look hard to find her. As she drew nearer, she faltered, certain that she recognized at least one voice. Innocent and cheerful -- always able to bring a smile to Zunda's face, no matter what. Even now, she caught herself grinning despite her dire situation, and knew without a doubt, she would recognize at least one face beyond the trees. She edged closer, until she was able to see the two figures standing just beyond the bars that she herself had not dared to cross. Just the two, she was certain, if their postures were anything to go by and the lack of smells that floated on the stagnant air. She watched the two, though they never truly turned to face her, and was certain that she in fact, knew both. Her heart fluttered in her chest, torn between duty and friendship, and in and of itself, her own safety. In the end, a child's want of warmth and friendship won over the hardened life that would have her grow before her time, and she quietly stepped down from her place against a towering oak, easily recognized but not easily seen if she cared not to be. Calling softly, she addressed the smaller of the two, who stood nearest her own location, her heart in her throat, surrounded by the chill of fear and hope and praying that the latter was the victor. "...Ferra?..." Zunda dared not shout, barely raising her voice above a whisper, but fairly certain the younger ess would hear her.

The young tiger took slow deliberate steps into the facility. He had a place in mind, one place that he wanted to go. He wanted to go to where he born, back to a time when the only thing he had to worry about was not getting caught staying up late with Ferra. His heart longed to have his family, his stomach felt sick with loneliness. A deep frown graced his young face, making him appear older than he really was. In his mind, he had aged at least three years, though his body had only aged a year. He still had a youthful appearance, something he was eager to drop because besides all of his intelligence, older felines were hard pressed to listen to him or take him seriously. His mouth hung open, his tongue lolled out in a small pant. Being a Siberian tiger, his pelt was thick and even though the temperature would be comfortable for most, it was hot for him. Shallum had learned not too long ago that winter was his favorite season.
''Hello brother!''
He jumped nearly out of his skin, his bright green eyes went wide, and his heart rate nearly doubled. But he quickly located his much smaller sister. He smiled softly at her, knowing that she had not meant to startle him. "Hello, sister." He greeted, his voice sounding much older than it had just a month ago. It was deep, his words sounded deliberate. He sounded mature and grown up, something that he was happy for. Now only if his body could follow suit. Before she had time to reply to him, however, a mutter entered his ears. The mutter was clearly nervous, but he could not tell who it belonged to. His ears flattened on his head, and his lips curled back over his teeth, and he stepped around his sister and toward the maker of the noise. He would be damned if someone was trespassing on their land with the intention of hurting them. Stalking forward, with his face curled into a vicious snarl.. He would never know how much he looked like his father. The way he walked, the way he carried himself.. Just like his father.. Because before he realized how judgmental and closed minded his parents were, his father had been his hero.
He stalked closer to the individual, unable to see them well as they were hiding in the shadows.. Something that made him even more suspicious of them.
"Show yourself!" He barked, stopping and standing at guard. His muscles were tensed, he was crouched low to the ground. If worse came to worse he was ready to fight the intruder. He could smell that they were a tiger, but after what he had done, neither lion nor tiger outside of the clan was very friendly toward him.

Ferra loved her brother, maybe its the way she was playful and loves to laugh, well giggle. Ferra has a sweet side that no one can explain about her. She for sure did not get that from her dad, and not from her mom either. Ferra is just her own unique self. Light colored with very bright eyes.
The female giggled loudly when she though she surprised her brother, a loud laugh, but a short one at that. He replied to her calmly and that's what truly made her stop. The female sighed and she felt like asking her brother what he was up to. Ferra was no fan of this place. But the small voice came, she was closer to whom ever it was, and she knew who it was. Her brother heard Zunda too and Ferra was not sure if that was good or bad right now, he looked ferocious and reacted like any good member would. ''Shallum Please calm down'', Ferra walk in a circle only to smile in Zunda's direction as if to say you can come out now. Ferra remember their friend, they loved to pay when they where young. Ya all three of them grew up in Inferne Pride.
''Brother its our friend'', Ferra was very exited, her eyes where bright but it started to fade. She knew it was dangerous of an 'enemy' to be here unless she was going to join.. What would she do.

Watching the scene between brother and sister unfold brought a bittersweet chill to Zunda's stomach, a churning, writhing mess of mixed emotions as she fought the tears that burned behind troubled eyes. She had only just seen them, and already she was loosing her sense of self-control. She should be here. She should have turned away before the deer ever crossed that silly line! Now, not only was she at risk of being caught, but caught by those that should be no more than ghosts to her. That she had called Ferra's name did not bode well for her, and she fervently prayed that the inherently happy lass put it off as nothing more than a playful whisper of the wind; a complete contradiction to her earlier thoughts as with the other hand she continued to curse her own foolishness. She flinched as Shallum finally turned to face the trees. The striking likeness to his father, whom Zunda had seen that same evening, was not lost on her... It made her heart cry out in a new, strangled voice, for the pain that both father and son were sure to feel on some level for the simple sake of loss. She shut her eyes against his graveled command, his voice only just missing the edge that she was sure he would eventually grow into. She shut her eyes more tightly as her shoulders began to quiver with the unshed tears and she knew then that she could not linger longer. She turned to leave, a heavy paw following behind an equally heavy heart, until sweet Ferra spoke that one word. Friend. At that, there was no defense against her emotions and she sobbed dry, throat breaking sobs as there were no true tears to shed by any tiger, and flew into the light rather than the safety of the shadows' embrace. She knew it was wrong, that she could not return home with their scents upon her, and that even as her eyes took in the new brightness, she was doomed to rue the day. None of that mattered however, as she leapt through the trees toward the two well known faces. Her friends, nearly siblings, and childhood companions. She did not agree with their decisions, did not support their cause, but she could not deny that they were as much a part of her as she was certain she was a tiger. She held nothing back as she broke from the trees, a joyous smile lighting up her features. She was careful to land aside Ferra, though she had desperately wanted to tackle the lighter cub, but aware that playing could have been seen as hunting. She panted, eyes bright and burning as she released a tinkering laugh... She was happy, to be recognized if nothing else, and if this earned her a few scars she would bear them proudly. She fidgeted, wanting to reacquaint herself physically to each of them, rub along them in greeting and play like they once had, but now that she was here, on their territory, it was their call.

The tiger stopped and listened to his sister, saying that the tigress before them was their friend. Zunda. Yes, back before they were traitors, but now she could be here to kill them under his father's order. He looked at his sister, but did not say what he was thinking. She was still innocent and happy, he didn't really want to ruin that by telling her what most other tigers considered her now. He didn't want to ruin that by telling her she was naive to trust a friend from their past who very well could not be a friend any more. Shallum turned his attention back to Zunda, and watched as she made her way out of the trees and shadows. His muscles were tense, his nerves were on edge. He didn't know what Zunda was about to do. The child in him wanted to run to her, play with her, greet her, tell her how he missed her. But the mature part of him knew that wouldn't be a great decision. No. Not if she had been sent here on darker orders than he liked to think about.
But once she made it out into the light, he saw that she was not here to cause trouble. No. She looked like she was ready to cry. Her body position was sad, scared, unsure. Zunda had obviously done some growing up as well. She knew that just because they had been friends, the siblings could turn on her and kill her for trespassing on their land.
But that was the last thing he wanted to do.
A wide grin split his face and he bounded toward her, covering the distance between them in no time flat. When he reached her, he tackled her, rubbing his head against her neck and purring softly. Shallum had missed his old friend.

The female was not sure if her brother believed her or not, she had no time to look at him. Hr small frame was vibrating with excitement and fear. Zunda was here... ZUNDA WAS HEREE! But Ferra had to think logical even if her heart was telling her other wise. Some one from Inferme, like her father could have told Zunda to come and attack, or kill even. But maybe just their mom asked Zunda too check on them. But she would never take that chance would she? Ferra's mind and heart where fighting with them selves but she would soon deiced.
Her friends reaction was different or strange, she wasnt just coming out and lashing at them or even running away no she was just hiding there. Maybe Zunda her self was afraid, it was a two on one, it was a greater chance Zunda would loose. Ferra was getting nervous by the minute, why wont anyone move. She could see the nervousness in the air. But that's when Zunda came. Her face and body features seemed so vulnerable, she was crying? Or was she just scared Ferra was to exited to tell. Her own body quivered. and out of no where Shallum jumped forward, but Ferra could tell he meant no harm. Everyone missed each other so much, life had its tools, but friendship is hard to break. Ferra follwed soon after her brother and joined in, her large tongue licking her friend's face. Life seemed okay for now. Why. Are. You here.'', Ferra licked out, she was curious for now, but there was still danger lurking out there.

She stood in the open, vulnerable and certain that both Shallum and Ferra were as aware of the true situation as she herself. She shook faintly, the gentle vibrations seeming to become a new trait she had never truly noticed before when she found herself in less than desirable situations. Deep breaths, calming her trembling limbs and even shakier nerves were the only thing to break the silence for a moment. Out of the corner of her eye all she saw was the flash of vibrant orange and black, the striped fur becoming nothing more than a flash as Shallum launched himself across the small distance between them. She tensed, but made no move to defend herself. She would fight if she had to, but he had every right to make the first move. She waited for the impact, forcefully releasing her baited breath as his larger, heavier frame collided with her own slight figure. She expected pain, but was greeted with an old comfort. The snarl on her ash-painted lips died, suffocated by a joyous laugh that rang only on the off beats, with sadness. She rubbed herself along Shallum's body, head digging forcibly beneath his chin and into the hollows she could find at his shoulder, assuring herself that he was solid and present. There was no purr vibrating from her throat, the sound always having seemed somewhat foreign to her, but it wasn't necessary to know she was pleased with his reaction. Her eyes had risen in search of Ferra, the younger tigress having disappeared from Zunda's sight at Shallum's introduction. She feared for a moment that he had proved himself to be a ploy of distraction while Ferra went in search of back-up, but her fears were quickly squandered as she felt yet another body join the fringe of welcome. She laughed another light and bubbling laugh, almost a true giggle, as Ferra spoke between licks -- it was endearing, and more than enough to know that she still remained between friends. She carefully extracted herself from the pile of limbs, sides heaving slightly and for the first time she realized how short of breath she had become in the excitement. A good sign. She regained her breath, offering a wide, lopsided grin in the silence before sitting herself between the two. She didn't like the idea of her back being to any particular direction when she couldn't see all sides, so this was as good as she could get and have the peace of mind to explain herself. "...Well, I suppose I was bringing you dinner..." She gave a sour glare towards the trees into which the doe had long disappeared, before replacing it with a rather sheepish grin, " I had been hunting, and was close to bringing her down -- I just didn't notice when I crossed the line, and well, here I am!" She shrugged, ending her story there. There had been no planning in her arrival, and there certainly weren't any ulterior motives; just a thoughtless mistake that had proven to have beneficial consequences.
