Pacing. Back and forth. Back and forth.
She was doing it again, and she couldn’t seem to get her feet to cooperate- to do what she wanted them to do. Lips were curled in a permanent snarl, ears pinned against her skull as her tail lashed about behind her. A constant rumble seemed to be leaking from Rev, like low rolling thunder. It was obvious the big cat was riled. If she kept it up, she was bound to grind a path right into the very floor below her with her pacing. She’d lost the chance to take down a doe, and that wasn’t something that ever settled well with the tigress.
On the slick floors of the mall nonetheless. She should have been able to catch that damn deer! How the hell had she missed it? She’d set it up perfect and still the hoofed animal had escaped Rev’s grip. It was unacceptable. Reveka didn’t miss easy kills like this. Ever. Shame washed through the big cat, drawing a rough agitated snarl from the beasts’ mouth. Another emotion that was nearly unknown to the big cat, so much so that it actually stopped Rev’s pacing for a moment, puzzlement crossing her striking features.
Impulse started up her pacing again, the flexing of her hooked claws clicking against the slick floor in random intervals.

NOTES; Aww. Poor Revvy is having an off day. D: Short post is short. They should get longer later. :]

| [atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/2ahaz5e.png]Tawny eyes gazed from an framed face that seemed, at the moment, to be grinning from ear to ear. The male had nothing to be grinning about, and yet he was, and it was getting to the point where it was beyond creepy. The Cheshire grin either drew kitties, or repelled them, and typically it was the latter. He had no mate-- no one to ever share experiences with even though he was a quirky fellow. No cubs to shoo away as if he didn't care, when, in actuality, wanted them there. Nothing, really. Just himself and maybe one friend. You had to add the 'maybe', for the male never seemed to keep them. But, you see, it was their fault as well. They could never keep up with his quirks and perks. Some of which were naive, and some well kept. Such as the fact that he never trusted anyone until they were well-proven. That was well-kept, but naivety was something like his quirk for thinking that people were what they looked most of the time. That evil was out in the open, when, in reality, most of the time it wasn't. However, the male was the perfect soldier; one that obeyed everything, and had a grin on his face even so...even with cats dying. He had a grin because he knew that it was better for him to kill them then his leader. But the grin was shallow, and didn't have very much deep meaning. It seemed like he truly didn't like the killing, but wanted to help one side. So he chose his own. One that didn't seem so very lax at the rules...however, Jinx was beginning to think that he had picked wrong. He would never voice it, of course, and it was most likely only a passing thing, but still. One could not help but wonder if there was one right side. His ears pricked forward at the sound of clicking claws, and his tail twitched as he automatically slinked forward into a crouch position. There was someone else here? Sliding his tawny eyes over the racks of human stuff, he carefully padded forward until he saw the source of the clicking: a very ticked female tiger. With amusement, the male sat his rump on the ground, and licked a paw lazily. As if he hadn't just been on high-alert just a moment ago. He wanted to be noticed, but not enough to call to her, and so he watched her pace back and forth as if she wanted to break through the ground and crash down, down, down. She was a hunter from his own pride, he knew this, but he couldn't remember he name for the life of him. He never remembered any name unless it was a high name. So she could very well hunt the best in the pride, and he would never remember something as simple as a name. It infuriated some, and amused others, but, quite frankly, the Siberian didn't care, and merely continued his watch of amusement. " Love, you'll crash down from your mighty pacing floor if you continue any longer." A slow blink came after the words, and Jinx grinned all the more. After many minutes of deciding, he had decided to speak first, and speak he did. Not a simple and polite 'hello', but, instead, an amused set of words that described what he saw. The female was pretty, but typically Jinx wasn't motivated by prettiness. He was motivated and moved by intelligence, which was a rare thing in the male world. However, it was found in some, such as Shaman's mate. If he said otherwise, it would be treason, but, in this rare burst of truthfulness, the male told not a lie, but the very truth. That normally caused some kitties to fall from their mighty pedestals, but honesty was the best policy, eh? ---- notes; Hee hee, Jinx is pawnsome. ;D

| [atrb=background,http://i54.tinypic.com/2vwabsj.jpg] Frustration ate away at the shame, and soon Rev was back to her agitated, snarly self. That deer had been dinner for the tribe…or at least part of it. Not that one deer could feed five tigers. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that she had LOST A FRIGGIN’ KILL! The tigress huffed and continued her pacing, muttering to herself. What if Shaman found out? And Stella? What would her leaders think of her failure to bring down a measly little doe in one of the easiest places to take down an animal with hooves? This little failure wouldn’t help her on her trek to baroness.
No one would have to know. She could hunt again, find Zunda and drag her along on a hunt, hopefully catch a few deer and then head back to the police station as if nothing had happened, as if she hadn’t failed to catch a simple deer. She paused in her pacing, nodded and then resumed. Step. Step. Step. Step. Step. Turn. Step. Step. Step. Step. Turn. It wasn’t the tigers words that had caught Rev’s attention, then. But his very presence. She’d been so absorbed in her distress that she hadn’t noticed the warrior creep up on her. Snorting, she glared toward the male. How long had he been there, what had he heard? Worry washed through the tigress now, afraid that he may have heard her ranting about her failed hunt. Had she even spoken aloud? Or had she just thought everything. She couldn’t quite remember.
"Love, you'll crash down from your mighty pacing floor if you continue any longer." She heard his words loud and clear, but instead of responding to them, she spat out a question. “How long have you been here, Warrior?” She inquired, tense. She knew little of this male, not counting his name and rank, and wasn’t sure if he was the type to run off and tattle to the leaders. It was a shame, really. How distant she seemed to be from her fellow tribe members. She couldn’t help it, though. Socializing just wasn’t something she was fond of. “Better yet, why are you even here?” She threw out another question, truly curious as to why the male was here.

| [atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/2ahaz5e.png] How long have you been here, Warrior?
Well then, such a temper. The male smirked before replying, licking a paw and flicking his tail before replying-- just to annoy her. Jinx Appios looked over her carefully, picking his words with unnatural care. "My dear, I would ask you to do tone down your fiery darts a bit. I am merely amused by the fact that you pace, and yet...
|
" He paused, his smirk spreading wider across his face before continuing. " And yet you don't do anything about it. What has got your feathers-- er, fur-- all ruffled?" The male looked amused, almost, as if all of this was entertaining him. And, indeed, it was, for the female seemed to be fairly...annoyed, if you could tone it down to that word. Why did she snap at him like that? It wasn't as if he had done anything. A smug smile crept onto his face. Well, except for being infuriatingly calm and amused, of course. Better yet, why are you even here? The male grew even more amused and entertained, as if an angry female tiger was something to joke about. " Love, last time I looked, this was our land. Not just...yours." A shrug came from the big male's shoulders, and he flicked a tail in disinterest. " Not like I care if you create yourself the illusion of being queen of all earth, but, sweety, don't include other tigers if they don't want to." That said, Jinx tilted his head to one side-- curious once more. " What are you doing here? Pacing away like a trapped animal. Kitties will start to wonder, no?" What was she doing here? Pacing away like that, and she would, no doubt, drop through the line she had created. What had gotten her so ticked at the world that she needed to pace-- and not only that, but pace with claws in their full glory! No, this, indeed, wasn't something to joke about, but he couldn't help it. It was his nature to tease, and when she realized as much, she would get along well with the world. " Unless you were the over-reactive one, in which case I would guess at you being annoyed at a friend? But you don't strike me as one that gets annoyed and ticked very fast." The male nodded, half-smiling in that annoying smirk of his. No matter if he tried not to, he couldn't seem to get it off, and many animals were understandably annoyed by this. Not like he cared, but annoyed animals included leaders, and, well...he didn't want that. No, indeed. Typically he introduced a blank and emotionless face when it came to them, but...try as he might, he couldn't at time. But it looked like they weren't too annoyed, for, if they were, surely they would have said something by now, wouldn't they? ---- notes; Whewt, I'm back, Reveka! This time, I'm going to stay. Sorry for the late post, by the way. [/blockquote]

Well, that was far from the reaction she had expected from the big male. He acted like she hadn’t spat her questions at him in that rude little way of hers. It irked her…just a bit. In all honesty, she’d expected just as much sass in return. His reaction was like a cold bucket of water thrown on a small fire, and just as successful as ridding Rev of her anger. Rev’s pink eyes snapped toward the male when he spoke up, her pacing halted for the moment- this stranger was enough to keep her brain busy, focused so she wouldn’t resort to pacing. "My dear, I would ask you to do tone down your fiery darts a bit. I am merely amused by the fact that you pace, and yet...And yet you don't do anything about it. What has got your feathers-- er, fur-- all ruffled?" So the male was amused by her horrid habit of pacing, was he? Well that was just fine and dandy, at least someone found her…amusing. “Don’t really have much of a choice. Damn humans kept me in a friggin’ box.” She grumbled, a rather weak excuse for her pacing, but it was true nonetheless.
A low growl escaped her as she allowed her rear to fall to the cold slick floor beneath them, her brain racing for an explanation that would divert the male from asking more questions about her mood. And the cause. Had she had a light bulb above her head, surely the thing would have chimed and begun glowing. “Chipped a claw,” She stated with just a tad bit of sarcasm laced into her words. She pulled up a paw to wiggle her claws. Surely that would prevent him from delving any deeper into her problems- she knew from experience most males cared little about female problems. She hated to make up tales, to lie. She hated when others lied to her face, but here she was, doing just what she despised. At least it wasn’t something huge…well…sorta. A failed hunt was a pretty big thing, to Rev, and she just couldn’t bring herself to outright say she’d failed. Part of her hoped the big male would catch on, force her to tell the truth.
"Love, last time I looked, this was our land. Not just...yours. Not like I care if you create yourself the illusion of being queen of all earth, but, sweety, don't include other tigers if they don't want to. What are you doing here? Pacing away like a trapped animal. Kitties will start to wonder, no?"
Well, wasn’t that a lovely idea? Reveka, Queen of all the earth! That would be splendid. It was too bad Rev couldn’t rule the whole planet from one little city, though. Perhaps she’d just have to start small? Nah, she wasn’t the leadin’ type. She was far better at takin’ orders than giving them. But that didn’t mean she wasn’t set on a high rank. She knew she could handle Baroness, if only she could ever get there. With a grunt, her attention was turned back to the male; her ears folding back as he launched more questions her way. Oh, goody, more lies…on the way! “I, uhh… I was looking about. Place is pretty interesting.” She shrugged, trying to pull off nonchalance. Giving herself a shake, she allowed her front paws to slide out from under her, laying herself flat on the cool ground. Why sit when you can get comfy? She had a feeling this male wasn’t going to randomly launch an attack on her, so she felt safe enough to relax. For the moment.
"Unless you were the over-reactive one, in which case I would guess at you being annoyed at a friend? But you don't strike me as one that gets annoyed and ticked very fast." Annoyed at a friend? Far from it. Unless the new slang for prey, food, or dinner had been changed to friend. And if so, why the hell hadn’t Rev been notified!? “Oh no, I am.” She nodded repeatedly. “Very very over-reactive.” She kept right along nodding, lifting a paw yet again to emphasize her words. “Chipped a claw, remember?” Bad, bad Reveka! So many lies in such a short time span. She nearly wanted to bite her own tongue off, but even the thought made her cringe. So instead, she sat there and hoped the male would slow his barrage of questions. She didn’t think she could keep it up for much longer.
Jinx Rev.
---------------- Welcome back! :D

Don’t really have much of a choice. Damn humans kept me in a friggin’ box.
Jinx nodded carefully, his eyes barely being able to be kept from rolling. "Everyone has a choice, love. Everyone. It's just the question on if you choose the right thing or not...
|
" The male trailed off, a slow smile emerging across his face. If she didn't want to tell him, that was fine. Wasn't any of his business, anyway. But still, if she didn't, then...then he wasn't able to help. If she told him the truth to what this was all about, then maybe he could help, possibly? He did like helping, even if it didn't look like it. To certain people, that is. Other kitties he would just...blow off. After all, it wasn't like he didn't have a choice, no? Chipped a claw.Hmm...it didn't look like she had chipped a claw..." Is that your final answer?" The big male smirked, wiggling his claws in front of him. " A claw being chipped? Seriously doubt that, honey. After all, this pride, pack, clan-- whatever you want to call it-- it has a rough type of thing going. It means that, if you did what you said you did, then you're pretty pathetic. Are you going to admit you're pathetic, or that you need another shot in answering?" Jinx replied bluntly, twitching his tail in amusement. She was interesting, to say the least. The female had taken on a 'ticked off' look when he had got here and before, but now she was just trying to pass it off as chipping a claw? It sounded very uninteresting, but...his curiosity prompted him to follow it. After all, it could lead to something very much so the opposite. " But, darling, I love watching you pace, so if you want to continue over a chipped claw, then, by all means." He waved a paw in front of himself. " Do so." Jinx Appios looked as if he was about to settle himself for a long day's worth of pacing. Why would she be down here, and not out hunting, or whatever she did? It wasn't like any of the pride members to slack off and simply pace over a chipped claw...then again, who knew the workings of the female mind? No one, really. In fact, he rarely, if ever, challenged it. Sure, he was slightly jabber-ish, but he wasn't emotional like some of them were. Or over-reactive like some more. Though, he had seen quite a few females even more rock-solid in not showing any emotions then males were. Some of them could cuss a guy enough to make him cry-- those types of things. He had assumed she was like them, but...maybe he was mistaken. I, uhh… I was looking about. Place is pretty interesting. What was with all these lies? The last one was, with no doubt, a lie in and of itself. The other ones he wasn't so sure of, but this one...? " Darling, I can't help you if you don't just simply spit out what's chewing up your insides." There, he said it. Straight out. Maybe she would then be straight out with him as well. Who knows. Watching her lay down prompted him to do so as well-- in a more lazy and less graceful movements then she, but who could complain? Oh no, I am. Very very over-reactive. Chipped a claw, remember?Watching her nod that much made him dizzy. " Love, if you continue nodding that much, you'll turn into a bobble-head toy. But anyway. Admit you're pathetic, then. Do it. Or say you need another chance at answering my..." He paused, his smirk growing. " My heart-felt questions." Oh, this was so fun! So entertaining! He had never had such an entertaining customer to answer his questions, even if they were somewhat lies! Nodding, he wondered when she was going to get it that he was offering himself to help in whatever way he can. In his own weird, slightly-twisted and odd way. It was how he did things, hm? Everyone had their own way of saying things, and this, well, this was how he did it. ---- notes; My, my, it's entertaining to roleplay Jinx. >3 [/blockquote]

"Everyone has a choice, love. Everyone. It's just the question on if you choose the right thing or not...”
Well that was a new one. So she’d chosen life in a cage, was that it? Narrowing her eyes, she cast a bewildered glare toward the male. “So…you’re saying I chose life in some human town? Caged up and put on display like some fancy little collectable?” She huffed, sneering. The temper was evident in her voice yet again, brought on by the memories of that dreaded place rather than the words the male had spoke. Her choice, had she had one, would to have never been placed in those dreaded cages to begin with. The simple thought of being forced back into one of those cages again made her want to lash out, strike something. But she didn’t, instead she simply allowed pale pink eyes to gaze curiously at the male, wondering what he’d say next.
“Is that your final answer?”
She nearly squeaked when he’d questioned her, ears folding back. Did he know she was lying? Already?! No…he couldn’t. Was she that bad at lying? She didn’t doubt it; she’d never thought herself to pull off decent lies. But for him to catch on that quickly? She didn’t know what to do now.
“A claw being chipped? Seriously doubt that, honey. After all, this pride, pack, clan-- whatever you want to call it-- it has a rough type of thing going. It means that, if you did what you said you did, then you're pretty pathetic. Are you going to admit you're pathetic, or that you need another shot in answering?”
“Um…” She mumbled, mind racing. What now? It seemed as if the male knew she was lying. And at the moment, he wasn’t hinting that he’d tattle. Maybe she should just come clean? Clear her conscious. It seemed almost childish, her fear of being tattled on, her worry that he’d run and tell Shaman and Stella of her failure. She’d be humiliated, and that was something she just couldn’t have.
“But, darling, I love watching you pace, so if you want to continue over a chipped claw, then, by all means. Do so.” His words drew her from her hectic thoughts, and she nearly laughed at what she heard. She could do little to stop the little smirk that formed on her short muzzle, eyes dancing mischievously. “I take it you like what you see?” She couldn’t help but tease, rolling her pink eyes. It’d been far too long since Rev had had some decent company, so, despite her aversion to socialization, she was enjoying herself…just a bit. There was still the issue of her lies, and the fact that it was becoming more and more obvious that the male wasn’t buying them.
“Darling, I can't help you if you don't just simply spit out what's chewing up your insides.” Anxiety washed through her once more, tightening her stomach. That was it, she couldn’t handle this anymore, she’d just have to come clean. There was just no way around that. So much for not telling anyone, eh Revvy? Grunting, she averted her gaze. “Ifailedtocatchadeer.” The words slurred together in her rush to get them out and once she was free of them, her pink eyes wearily made their way back to the male a few feet from her. Whether or not he had heard her was unclear, and if he didn’t…oh, well. There was no way he was going to get her to repeat the phrase once more. She could only hope letting her little 'secret' out wasn't going to come back to bite her in the ass, so to speak.
“Love, if you continue nodding that much, you'll turn into a bobble-head toy. But anyway. Admit you're pathetic, then. Do it. Or say you need another chance at answering my... My heart-felt questions.”
She had nothing to say in response to that. Except a small snort of laughter in response to the bobble-head comment. She was sure, with her head nodding as it had been, she did look like one of those toys the humans entertained themselves with. Pathetic. There he went again, throwing the P word at her yet again. If there was one thing she wasn’t, it was pathetic. The word made her blood boil, made her want to snarl and chase it away like some living being. But with it being a word and all…that was..ya, know. Impossible. So she simply sat and fumed a little bit, waiting for what other words the male might throw at her.
